LOCAL ONE IATSE SETTLES LABOR DISPUTE WITH CARNEGIE HALL

This week, the stagehands of IATSE Local One took to the streets to protest the union-busting tactics of the Carnegie Hall Corporation.  A deal between the union and Carnegie Hall Corporation was reached this afternoon.

Workers walked off the job on Thursday, causing the cancellation of opening day for the first time in Carnegie Hall history.  Local One had been in negotiations with the Carnegie Hall Corporation for more than a year, working to ensure that as the Corporation moves to spend more than $230 million renovating its facilities, the workers employed at the historic venue are unionized.
