#NYC1u: Action Network
Tue, Jun 30, 2015 at 03:00 PM to at 04:30 PM
From emailing supporters to setting up events, a good set of digital mobilization tools have for years now been a key part of an organization toolset. And over the last couple of months, the AFL-CIO and affiliated unions have migrated to the most modern and powerful set of mobilization tools available: Action Network's suite of embeddable tools.
Action Network's Executive Director Brian Young will walk through the mechanics of how to use the Action Network toolset to build petitions, events, fundraising pages, email blasts. Brian will also go through what makes the Action Network uniquely powerful for working in coalitions and talks about some of the strategies others have used to put them into action, from the Making Change at Walmart's Black Friday actions to small grassroots mobilizations.
We will have computers available for hands-on experimentation, and we will also discuss some strategic approaches to how to get the best out of your digital programs.
Brian Young will lead this session.
Brian Young is the Executive Director and co-founder of the Action Network. Previous to starting the Action Network, he led the digital activities of a number of Democratic Super PACs as a consultant, ran the digital operations for John Kerry's Senate office and political campaigns, consulted with the Howard Dean campaign, and worked in many other roles for political campaigns, including running campaigns for federal office. He also has experience as a filmmaker, producing documentaries for public television stations in the Northeast.
