We Are All Americans

An open forum to create solidarity across the labor and immigrant communities

Sponsored by:

The Harry Van Arsdale, Jr. Memorial Association
The Joint Industry Board of the Electrical Industry
In conjunction with the office of Congressman Joseph Crowley

In a political climate where there is more deliberate undermining of and hostility against the poor and working class people – particularly organized labor and immigrant communities, it is more important now than ever that union workers and immigrants come together, find common ground, and build bridges.

Our struggle is similar. Our pains and joys are similar too. History tells us that America has always been a country of immigrant workers and families: old and new -- European, Latin American, Asian, or African. Diversity and togetherness make this country great. The powerful 1% always tried to sow seeds of hate, bigotry and confusion, but they have failed.

Let us unite, and not divide, ourselves. We are all 99%. We are all Americans, regardless of our color, nationality, religion, and lifestyle.

To create a series of cross-99% dialogue, we invite you to attend the open forum – the first of its nature, and actively participate in the discussion. Together, we can beat back against the forces of hate, bigotry, and division.
