Worker Institute Hosts Communications Panel Discussion

This morning, the Worker Institute at Cornell hosted a labor breakfast forum entitled "Shaping Labor's Message: A Conversation with the National AFL-CIO Director of Communications, Eric W. Hauser".  The breakfast, which was co-sponsored by the Central Labor Council and the Metro NY Labor Communications Council, provided an opportunity for attendees to hear updates about National AFL-CIO messaging and communications techiniques.

The breakfast also featured a panel with labor and alt-labor communicators like Zita Allen (DC 37, AFSCME), Elaine Kim (32BJ SEIU), Elana Levin (Make the Road NY Action Fund), and journalist Juan Gonzalez (NY Daily News, Democracy NOW).  Panelists spoke of some of the work they're doing, and experiences in the labor movement, but also had the opportunity to ask Hauser questions. The event concluded with a Q and A session between the audience and panelists.
