U.S. Department of Labor Files Discrimination Suit Against B&H Photo

This week, the United States Department of Labor filed a lawsuit against NYC-based electronics retailer B&H Photo, alleging that the store’s management discriminated against women and workers of color.

According to workers at company’s Brooklyn Navy Yard location, the company paid Hispanic workers less than whites, refused to hire Black and Asian workers for entry-level positions, and failed to provide separate changing facilities for women.

Earlier this week, warehouse workers at the company’s 9th Avenue location in Manhattan voted to join the United Steelworkers Union.
