Met Orchestra Overwhelmingly Ratifies Contract

The musicians of the Met Orchestra, members of AFM Local 802, have overwhelmingly ratified their contract with the Metropolitan Opera, clearing the path for its musicians to return to work and for the company, the largest performing arts organization in the nation, to resume performances next month after being shut down for more than a year by the pandemic.

"We are thrilled to be returning to regular performances very soon, and look forward to reconnecting with our audiences at the Met, at Carnegie Hall, on tour, and at our newly established chamber music series at Weill Hall," said Local 802 President Adam Krauthamer in a joint statement with President Adam Krauthamer and the Met Orchestra Committee.
