Climate Jobs NY Update: Climate Week NYC

This week during Climate Week NYC, union members, labor leaders, policymakers, scientists, and climate justice activists came together for the second annual Climate Jobs Summit. Speakers included Secretary Marty Walsh, U.S. Department of Labor, Secretary Pete Buttigieg, U.S. Secretary of Transportation, Liz Shuler, President, AFL-CIO, Vincent Alvarez, President, NYC Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, and Gary LaBarbara, President, Building and Construction Trades Council of Greater New York and New York State Building and Construction Trades Council.

Participants talked about building a clean energy economy at the scale science demands, powered by good union jobs — including victories over the past year, upcoming opportunities, and effective strategies. Videos of the Summit will be made available soon.
