Electrical Workers Minority Caucus (EWMC) Day of Service with Flushing Volunteer Ambulance Corps

On Saturday, June 18, the New York City chapter of the Electrical Workers Minority Caucus (EWMC) participated in the annual Day of Service by volunteering at the Flushing Community Volunteer Ambulance Corps located in the East Flushing neighborhood of Queens.Volunteers from Local Union No. 3, IBEW installed new LED fixtures donated by the New York
City chapter of the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) and union signatory manufacturer Legion Lighting Company.

The Flushing Community Volunteer Ambulance Corps serves the Flushing, Queens community
by donating their time as EMTs. They respond to the same 911 calls as the FDNY and assist
them by reducing response times to emergency and non-emergency medical transport requests from patients in hospitals, medical centers, and health care facilities. The EWMC is an international organization focused on the mission of uplifting minorities within the IBEW and our communities. One way is by volunteering our labor and spreading the word that unions are good for all.
