Public Service Loan Forgiveness Waiver Deadline is Monday October 31, Check Your Eligibility TODAY!

We are only THREE DAYS AWAY from the deadline for the limited Public Service Loan Forgiveness waiver! If you work in nonprofits or in local government/public service you may be eligible for the PSLF waiver and the chance to erase ALL of your federal student debt, but you must apply by October 31!

After 14 years with a deeply flawed system, labor has advocated for change and we finally have the Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) program we need. Because of a special US Department of Education program related to the COVID crisis, 250,000 working New Yorkers are eligible to have all their student loans erased. 15,260 New Yorkers have already had an average of $61,402 forgiven!

Important: PSLF is a separate program from the Biden/Harris loan forgiveness plan that was temporarily blocked by the courts. Public Service Loan Forgiveness is still active—but the waiver that makes it work expires on Monday.

PSLF.nyc has a simple tool student loan holders who have worked in nonprofits or government/public service can use to spend 30 minutes and meet the 10/31 deadline. You can also watch a webinar on YouTube here, or download slides from PSLF.nyc's presentation here.

Don't miss your chance to have your student loans erased! Even if you're not 100% sure if you're eligible, submit an application to lock in your benefits now.
