NYC CLC Makes First City Council Endorsements in 2023 Races

The NYC CLC, representing 300 unions and 1.3 million members including more than one million registered voter households across New York City, yesterday announced its first round of endorsements for the 2023 New York City elections. The endorsements include 23 incumbent candidates for New York City Council seats.

As in previous years, the NYC CLC’s member-to-member political program, NYC LaborVotes!, will focus on educating, engaging, and facilitating union members’ and their households’ ability to cast their ballot during the 2023 elections.

“The New York City Central Labor Council is the largest and broadest labor coalition in the city, and together with our affiliates we are committed to engaging with voting union households in all five boroughs through member-to-member outreach in support of our endorsed candidates,” said NYC CLC President Vincent Alvarez. “The candidates we’re endorsing today have already proven that they have what it takes to win, and we look forward to working with them to build a resilient, just New York City economy that works for all working families.”

Additional Council races will be included in a second round of endorsements in the upcoming weeks. Click here for the full list of endorsements!
