Funding for this year's National Endowment for the Arts (NEA) and National Endowment for the Humanities (NEH) budgets is at risk of being eliminated. President Donald Trump's recently released budget proposal gets rid of the funding entirely, and over the weekend, NEA grant recipients around the country received notices indicating that their allocated grant funding was canceled!

The NEA and the NEH support job opportunities for union creative professionals in every state, while providing all Americans with access to enriching programs that lift up local economies. The good news is that the president doesn't set the federal budget – Congress does. That's why we must urge Congress to commit to increased funding for the NEA and NEH in the coming fiscal year.

We need arts workers and allies to contact their U.S. Representative and request that they sign the bipartisan FY26 NEA and NEH appropriations request letters, each of which asks appropriators to fund the respective agency at $209 million. Your support of these will better our chances of increased funding to support jobs for union creative professionals. Please consider lending your voice to this important cause and sharing this message with your community. Thank you for your support!
