NYC Central Labor Council Releases New Endorsements

 

New York, NY - The New York City Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, today released a set of new endorsements.  The list includes Gale Brewer, candidate for Manhattan Borough President; Corey Johnson, candidate for Manhattan City Council District 3; Ben Kallos, candidate for Manhattan City Council District 5; Paul Vallone, candidate for Brooklyn City Council District 19; Robert Cornegy, candidate for Brooklyn City Council District 35; Laurie Cumbo, candidate for Brooklyn City Council District 36; and Mark Treyger, candidate for Brooklyn City Council District 47.

“We look forward to working with these candidates to craft legislation and budgets designed to help make life more affordable for our city’s working men and women,” said Vincent Alvarez, President of the New York City Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO.  “We are confident that a renewed City Council and a new administration committed to fighting for the needs of everyday New Yorkers will bring about the changes our city needs to reduce income inequality, and level the playing field for all New Yorkers.”

“I am proud to accept the endorsement of the Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO, New York’s largest labor federation,” said Paul Vallone.  “The Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO has a long and storied history of fighting for our city’s working families and I look forward to working alongside them as a partner in the fight to make our city a more affordable place to live, work and raise a family for all New Yorkers.”
