Statement by NYC CLC President Alvarez on SAG-AFTRA Strike

The New York City Central Labor Council, AFL-CIO stands in solidarity with the courageous SAG-AFTRA members who are fighting for their rights, dignity, and a more equitable entertainment industry. The decision to go on strike is never an easy one, but these workers have taken a stand because they know they deserve to be treated with respect, provided with fair compensation, and afforded appropriate working conditions. New York City is a Union Town, and the full resources of the New York City Labor Movement are and will continue to be at the disposal of SAG-AFTRA and its members for as long as is necessary to win a fair contract.
