STUDENTS, FACULTY, UNIVERSITY STAFF TO CALL ON GOVERNOR TO SIGN BILL TO STRENGTHEN CUNY/SUNY
Wed, Jul 22, 2015 at 01:00 PM
CUNY students and faculty, together with elected officials and labor leaders, will urge the governor to sign a bill to improve the quality of education at CUNY and SUNY.
The news conference is one of five events being held throughout the state on Wednesday, July 22 to support “maintenance of effort” (M.O.E.) legislation for CUNY and SUNY.
Passed with bipartisan, near-unanimous support in the Legislature, the bill would stabilize State funding for New York’s two public university systems.
With the Governor’s signature on the M.O.E. bill, CUNY and SUNY would be able to sustain academic quality and enrich programs for New York students.
